Napoli Scare Away Top Star Suitors with Sky-High Price

Victor Osimhen is being targeted by a host of clubs, but Napoli plot to resist the offers with a precise strategy. The Partenopei have set an astronomical price tag for their ace. No side has come close to it yet.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Azzurri would accept only bids north of €160M. Bayern Munich, PSG, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Arsenal have been routinely attached to the striker, but no side has made substantial progress thus far.

Napoli will attempt to nip the problem in the bud before the start of the window by tendering Osimhen a new contract. He would get a small pay hike, especially in terms of bonuses, plus they’d add a couple more years to the expiry date, which is currently 2025, and include a release clause to facilitate his future exit.

In the club’s ideal plans, the sum would be €150M, but they are aware they’ll have to bargain with his camp on such a topic. They did something similar with Edinson Cavani in the past, keeping him for an extra season before PSG scooped him out.

Our Take on Napoli and Osimhen

The Partenopei have plenty of leverage, plus it helps that the player, who’d get a boatload of money elsewhere, has shown no restlessness. After all, the present one was his first complete season where he didn’t suffer serious injuries that sidelined him for multiple months, and it led to great success on the pitch. It will be tough to come to terms with his agents before July, so the club might be in for a challenging summer, but convincing Aurelio De Laurentiis to sell won’t be easy for any suitor either.
