Napoli Shortlist Two Names to Replace Toronto Bound Insigne

Napoli ace Lorenzo Insigne is bound to leave the club he’s known all his life for new pastures across the Atlantic. His mega-money move to Toronto FC arrives as a product of failed negotiations between him and the club.

The Partenopei were hesitant to make the captain the highest-paid individual ahead of Kalidou Koulibaly, thus straining the relationship between the forward and the management.

With his departure imminent, president Aurelio De Laurentiis intends to bring about a change regarding wage limits at the club, identifying two new targets who can replace the EURO 2020 winner – according to reports from Calciomercato.

The first name in contention is 26-year-old Belgian forward Adnan Januzaj, who is currently plying his trade at Real Sociedad. News from Spain indicate that the former Manchester United winger is hesitant to renew his contract in Basque country, which expires at the end of the season. The initial contacts made between his agency and Napoli are said to be positive.

While Januzaj is a potential free transfer, the other name shortlisted is not.

Feyenoord Rotterdam winger Luis Sinisterra is the younger option for who the Partenopei should be ready to part with atleast €15-20m, given his current market value. He is four years younger to Januzaj.

Sinisterra has been in formidable form for the Dutch club, scoring 14 goals and assisting half as many in 29 outings this campaign.
