Napoli Sporting Director Giuntoli Shortlists Danish Midfield Ace

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been significant in materializing the club’s transfer strategy, having brought in the likes of Kim Min-Jae, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen among others, in recent seasons. However, with Piotr Zielinski’s future up in the air, the executive is back on the hunt to sign the Polish midfielder’s replacement.

His search has taken him to Germany and more specifically to the Partenopei’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 opponents Eintracht Frankfurt. Danish midfielder Jesper Lindstrom is the player in Napoli’s crosshair for a summer transfer, and in fact, Giuntoli visited Frankfurt even before the teams met for their continental tie.

As per Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato), Napoli have Lindstrom high on their wishlist.

Lindstrom is contracted until the summer of 2016 in the west of Germany, but with Zielinski’s next move still unknown, it might not be long before the Partenopei, led by Giuntoli, move for the Dane.

The Brondby youth product has been a vital part of Frankfurt this season, raking in 9 goals and 4 assists in 31 appearances.
