Napoli Star Likely to Be Sanctioned After His Outburst

Rudi Garcia was once again subjected to a blatant protest by one of his stars, Victor Osimhen, because of a substitution. The Nigerian striker invited the coach to use him and Giovanni Simeone together with a clear gesture. Khvicha Kvaratshkelia had done something similar, although less theatrically, in the Genoa fixture.

Per Il Mattino, the management and the coach will decide on Monday whether to discipline the player. They could levy a fine against the marksman, as he questioned the gaffer too visibly. There’ll surely be a stern talk between the two.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis was pleased with the performance despite the result, as he tweeted.

“Napoli restart from Bologna, kudos to everybody.”

Rudi Garcia suggested to have already spoken with Osimhen and the rest of the squad in the locker room after the final whistle. While their frontline didn’t produce, their defense held their own and kept a clean sheet even though Amir Rrahmani and Juan Jesus were missing.

Leo Ostigard and Natan both turned in a solid shift. The Brazilian showed his personality and technique in his first start at the club.

Our Take on Garcia and Osimhen

Despite his remarks, it’s pretty evident that the manager isn’t respected much inside the locker room yet. If the results don’t improve soon, he and the brass might have to resort to something out of the ordinary to get the players to follow the boss.
