Napoli Star Was Never Close to Leaving Despite Rumors

Victor Osimhen bagged two consecutive goals off the bench upon returning from a thigh strain. His name was bandied about during the summer. On the other hand, his agent Roberto Calenda said that there was nothing substantial in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“He’s very generous. Surely, I’m not the first one to say that. I would like to stress that he didn’t get hurt because he’s fragile, but rather because he suffered major blows. Everybody saw what happened in San Siro in the collision with Milan Skriniar, then he sprained his shoulder. He plays with great impetus, and that can cause injuries. He leaves everything on the pitch.”

Osimhen was linked to Manchester United in a blockbuster swap with Cristiano Ronaldo.

“The top teams eyeing him is nothing new. However, three parties have to be in agreement to do a deal: the seller, the buyer, and the player. I was crystal clear in my remarks because I knew even a hint would have fueled rumors spread by people that had different interests. He and Napoli are on the same page.”

“The buzz about his departure was a blunder. His desire has always been to stay at Napoli and play in the Champions League, which they earned along with his teammates last season. He wants to have a great campaign here. He has a long-term contract with the Azzurri. The transfer market is fluid, but our intention is to continue here and keep faring well.”
