After Victor Osimhen and Giovanni Di Lorenzo informed Napoli of their desire to leave, another first-team star has expressed a similar wish. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, is adamant his clients will play in the Champions League next season.
Heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, the 23-year-old gears up for Georgia’s maiden European Championships appearance. But once he returns from Germany, he’ll look to sever ties with Napoli despite earning a hero status at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
“We want to leave Napoli, but for now, we’re focusing on the Euros,” Jugeli told Georgian paper Sport Imedi, as quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport. With [Antonio] Conte, Napoli have big plans, but that doesn’t mean that Khvicha wants to stay here.”
Amid the uncertainty surrounding Osimhen’s future, this was the last thing Napoli needed heading into Conte’s first transfer window. But Kvaratskhelia’s mind is clear. He wants to ply his trade in the Champions League, which rules the Partenopei out of the picture.
“Our goal is a team that plays in the Champions League. The problem is that if he stays here, he’ll lose an entire year.“
