Napoli Superstar Deaf to Middle East Approaches

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s future at Napoli has been the subject of wild speculation after his incredible maiden Serie A campaign in 2022/23. In addition to several top European clubs, several sides from the Saudi Pro League have set watchful eyes on the Georgia international.
However, according to Daniele Longo, the 22-year-old has no interest in joining a sizeable contingent of European stars in the Middle East. Despite receiving lucrative proposals from Saudi Arabia, the ex-Dinamo Batumi winger is hellbent on staying at Napoli.
Kvaratskhelia’s contract at Napoli runs out in 2027. But Aurelio De Laurentiis is eager to tie his marquee forward down to a new deal. Though talks have hit a standstill, both parties are keen to continue together. Therefore, negotiations will resume in good faith.
While Kvaratskhelia is still searching for his best form this season, he reminded Serie A of his stature last weekend. With Napoli and Hellas Verona tied at 1-1, the Georgian slotted home a superb strike from the edge of the box to propel Walter Mazzarri’s side to an all-important win.
Mazzarri will heavily rely on his talismanic forward when Napoli take on Milan on Sunday night. Victor Osimhen is still at the Africa Cup of Nations as his Nigeria side meet Ivory Coast in a title-deciding fixture later today.
His absence leaves Kvaratskhelia as Partenopei’s most dependable attacker. Cyril Ngonge, who opened his Napoli account last weekend, could be an ace up Mazzarri’s sleeve, with the reigning champions seeking much-needed points to increase their European chances.
