Napoli Take an Interest in Bologna Defensive Star

Napoli wanted a defender with Serie A in January and took a look at Sam Beukema, but they quickly moved on because Bologna weren’t in a selling mood. They ultimately stood pat and kept Leo Ostigard after negotiating at length for Udinese’s Nehuen Perez. They plot to make another attempt, TuttoSport informs.

The Dutchman moved to Serie A last summer from AZ Alkmaar for €7.5M. The Felsinei beat Marseille, Torino, and Atalanta to the punch. His value has roughly tripled thanks to his sound displays in recent months.

According to Nicolò Schira, Napoli lodged an important bid for Beukema in January, but Bologna turned it down. It’ll take €20/25M to persuade them in the summer, but he’s under contract long-term.

The 25-year-old has featured 22 times this season, scoring twice and assisting once. He spent two years with AZ Alkmaar, which had signed him from Go Ahead Eagles. He in uncapped withvthe Netherlands even at the youth level. His former team has a 20 percent re-sale clause, which might impact his price tag.

Our Take on Napoli and Beukema

The Partenopei will need to make up their mind about their coach, tactics, and whether they trust Natan in a major role before compiling a wish list. He’s okay and very modern but also a little blunder-prone. If they want to make a sizeable investment in the back, Riccardo Calafiori is the Bologna defender to target.
