Napoli to Continue Searching For a New Fullback in January

After failing to get one in the summer, Napoli will try again to add a fullback in January. They are preferably looking for a left-footed one, but it would be even better if he was ambidextrous and could feature on either flank. Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Mario Rui have played almost every minute so far due to the unreliability of their current backups. Moreover, the contract of Faouzi Ghoulam expires at the end of the season.

Napoli continue to keep tabs on players they followed in the past, Sky Sport reports. Lille’s Reinildo Mandava is high on their list. His deal is up in June. They will try to get him in a Bosman move if they can not purchase him for a reasonable fee during the winter. The Partenopei also keep tracking Villarreal’s Pervis Estupinan, whose price tag was too expensive in the summer.

The new names on Napoli radar are Ajax’s Noussair Mazroui and Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi. The former is in the same contractual situation as Mandava. He spent his entire career at Ajax, recording 9 goals and 8 assists in 118 appearances.

Parisi missed the early portion of the schedule as he was rehabbing a leg fracture. He returned on the pitch in mid-October. He has featured four times since and provided an assist in the most recent game. Napoli would not mind acquiring a youngster in the role. The 21-year-old stood out in the lower leagues in previous seasons with the Tuscan side and Avellino. He was born in Campania.
