Napoli to Track Familiar Target if Osimhen Departs

Napoli wouldn’t look far if they sold Victor Osimhen to Al-Hilal, as Jonathan David has long been tapped as the heir apparent of the Nigerian star, as it happened at Lille. They have an agreement in principle with him, but that doesn’t necessarily mean their striker is any closer to leaving.

Per La Repubblica, Aurelio De Laurentiis and his agent Roberto Calenda had a ninth meeting to discuss his renewal. Rather than moving to Saudi Arabia, the marksman would like to transfer to the Premier League if he were to depart in the next year or two.

Napoli would probably need to devise a different plan if Osimhen stayed put, as David is wanted by PSG and by Al-Hilal as well. The extension talks are moving slowly. The representative asks for higher wages relative to what the Azzurri president proposed.

Considering his price tag, his representative demanded a €10M salary. The idea of a double release clause, one for Europe and the other for Saudi Arabia, is gaining steam. According to Sky, the latest offer from Al-Hilal is whopping for the marksman but unlikely to entice the Scudetto champions, as it amounts to €100M.

Our Take on Osimhen, Napoli, and David

The Partenopei are quite lucky he’s so attached and committed to them and hasn’t pushed to leave. Other players would have lost their patience by now.
