Napoli to Try Signing Lukaku Before Selling Osimhen

Napoli are tired of waiting and will accelerate their efforts to sign Romelu Lukaku before partying ways for Victor Osimhen. Their execs are planning a trip to London for direct talks with Chelsea and are confident about the outcome, Il Mattino informs.

The Blues are no longer in the picture for the Nigerian star. He was never particularly close despite the possibility of a partial swap. They have tendered a large bid for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion and have good chances of snapping him up.

Napoli will propose an initial loan for Lukaku first but are ready to offer €25/27M for a permanent acquisition. The counterparty will resist at least a little because Aston Villa put €35M on the table. However, the striker doesn’t want to transfer to Birmingham. He has already agreed to a substantial pay cut to join the Azzurri.

As for Osimhen, his top destination is PSG, but their offer was well shy of a nine-digit threshold. The Azzurri could come down from his €130M release clause, but not too much. Arsenal could become an option if they missed out on other targets. Arabia remains only a distant fallback at the moment.

Our Take on Napoli, Lukaku, and Osimhen

It’d be a bold move if they proceeded in reverse order. Antonio Conte must have been barking behind the scenes. They’ll eventually find a solution for their star, but, after fumbling the situation tragically, the question is how much they’ll have to settle for.
