Napoli Tracking Real Betis Recently Acquired Forward

Napoli have taken an interest in Real Betis winger Luiz Henrique. The Partenopei are unlikely to bring in reinforcements in the next window, but they could use it to set up future deals. The attacker has shown well in La Liga since transferring from Fluminense last summer.

As per Sky, the Azzurri are eyeing the 21-year-old in case they sell either Hirving Lozano or Matteo Politano. The Brazilian forward is versatile but plays primarily on the right wing, like their two current options.

Napoli monitored Luiz Henrique while he was in Brazil, and the move to Europe didn’t affect his performances. He logged 14 goals and 13 assists in 118 appearances in two years at Fluminense. Instead, he has scored twice and set up three teammates with Real Betis. He was acquired for €8M.

Politano and Lozano are both under contract with the Azzurri until 2024. The former is represented by Mario Giuffredi, who’s been in talks with the club especially concerning Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s extension. Instead, the Mexican international is one of the highest-paid players on the squad with €4.5M wages.

Our Take on Napoli Targeting Luiz Henrique

The Partenopei are on a renewal spree, but everything has been suspiciously quiet on Lozano. If they continue to operate as they did in the last summer, and they have no reason to change their strategy, he’ll probably be the next linchpin to leave, considering his salary and the fact that the expiration date of his contract is pretty close. He’s generally solid, but he’s not indispensable. He has never lacked suitors, and he could fetch a decent sum. And they would easily be able to replace him with a less expensive player.
