Following a transfer window full of anticipation, Inter starlet Giovanni Fabbian ultimately moved to Bologna over the weekend on a permanent deal. The Rossoblù won the race for the 20-year-old, who shone for Filippo Inzaghi’s Reggiana in Serie B last season, beating the likes of Frosinone and Udinese with a €5M bid.
After weeks of going back and forth with the Friulani as part of the eventually failed deal for Lazar Samardzic, Fabbian has his sights set solely on excelling at Bologna.
“I trained regularly with Inter, let’s say I had many medical tests and I couldn’t take it anymore. I’m very happy to be in Bologna and as soon as I learned of the interest, I immediately said yes. It was a very good initial impact with Motta, I always try to make myself available to the coach and I am convinced that we will have a good championship. I can’t wait to play at the Dall’Ara.” (via TuttoBolognaweb)
Fabbian also shed light on his relationship with Pippo Inzaghi.
“He gave me the possibility of making mistakes, so I could enter the field calmly and serenely. It’s in my character, but I can improve further. Let’s say I’ll first try to fit into Motta’s game, where his side attacks the empty spaces a lot.”
