Marcus Thuram has been linked on a frequent basis with a move away from Borussia Monchengladbach, with Serie A always a potential destination. Inter and Napoli have been mentioned as strong suitors for the Frenchman but new reports indicate that his future may lie elsewhere.
As per Football Insider (via TuttoNapoli), Thuram is now in the sights of Newcastle United who are planning a sensational winter transfer window. The Magpies have free agent Cristiano Ronaldo shortlisted as a potential target after the Portuguese superstar’s contract with Manchester United was rescinded on ‘mutual agreement’.

25-year-old Thuram has a transfermarkt value of €30M, but with his contract expiring in the summer of 2023, Monchengladbach may just let him leave for a discounted offer rather than as a free agent next year.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be keeping close tabs on the highly-rated forward.
He has 13 goals and 4 assists in 17 appearances for Gladbach this season across all competitions.
