Newly Promoted Monza Eye Milan Loanee from Crotone

Monza secured top-flight football for the first time in their 109-year history after ousting Pisa 4-3 in a thrilling promotion playoff dogfight. Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani’s side will join Lecce and Cremonese in the 2022/23 Serie A season, and the Lombardy club is already eyeing names to bolster their ranks in the summer.

The first name to pop up on the newly promoted club’s radar is Milan forward Junior Messias, whose loan deal expires in June. According to Tuttosport (via Tuttomercatoweb), Monza might strike a deal with Crotone or with the Rossoneri, should they activate their option to buy. Coach Giovanni Stroppa previously managed the winger while helming the Squali.

Monza could offer a deal in the range of €5-6M that would come as a respite for the Calabrian team, which has just been relegated to Serie C. Messias’ contract with Crotone expires in 2024. He has bagged 6 goals in 32 appearances for Milan in 2021/22.
