Neymar Wants Cristiano Ronaldo to Join Him at Paris Saint-Germain

Neymar has begun openly lobbying for Cristiano Ronaldo to move to PSG. The Brazil attacker revealed in an interview with GQ: “I want to play with Cristiano Ronaldo. I have already done it with great players like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé, but I have not played beside him yet.”

According to the Portuguese newspaper Sport, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and director Leonardo promised Neymar that PSG would try to add a top star during the successful negotiation for his recent mammoth extension. Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, and Cristiano Ronaldo have been short-listed.

The Portuguese ace has already been linked to the French club in the past, especially after Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said they would not bring him back. His agent also inquired about a possible reunion with Manchester United.

Ronaldo is under contract with Juventus until 2022 and will likely leave if they do not qualify for Champions League. If that were the case, he would stay only if he did not find another team that matches his professional ambitions and economic requests, SportMediaset reports.

Besides the lessened prestige, the Old Lady would lose €60M in revenue if they played in Europa League and not in the top continental competition. A dip that is equivalent of the gross wages of CR7. As a result of the yearly amortization, Ronaldo will be worth €29M on the balance sheets in the summer. If the Bianconeri were to move on from him, they would have to find a club willing to match or surpass that sum to avoid further financial losses.
