Not Much Changed for Chiesa After Meeting with Motta

Federico Chiesa practiced for the first time under new Juventus coach Thiago Motta on Monday. The two discussed about his role if he stayed. The scenario stays the same, as the coach doesn’t consider him central to his schemes, La Stampa informs (via Tuttomercatoweb).

On the other hand, he’ll practice regularly and perhaps take part in the friendlies unlike many other players who are on their way out, for instance Weston McKennie or Wojciech Szczesny.

The Bianconeri have instructed his agent Fali Ramadani to find a solution in the Premier League. Tottenham are considering Chiesa and might go ahead if they consider his €25/30M price tag a bargain. There have been no talks between clubs so far, Fabrizio Romano informs.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the representative is in London and will touch base with Chelsea too. The Old Lady wants to sell him to avoid the awkwardness and a Bosman departure in 2025. There’s no chance the parties will agree to a contract extension at this point.

Per TuttoSport, he has turned down Al Ahli and Besiktas despite lucrative offers. He wants to play in the Champions League or alternatively make the gaffer and the club change their minds.

Our Take on Juventus and Chiesa

The mandate comes from the management, and Motta signed off on it as he prefers players who stick to his plan and work their tails off in both phases. Perhaps they think he has fallen off so much athletically after his injury that he can not do that or simply his requests to renew his deal were too high. Despite the mess, there seems to be a quiet confidence about a sound outcome.
