Nottingham Forest Ready to Table Bid for Roma Defender

Nottingham Forest reportedly intend to make a lucrative offer for Roger Ibanez, whom Roma made available considering they have already onboarded his replacements. The deal could move along quickly and help the Giallorossi bankroll multiple acquisitions.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Tricky Trees could propose €25M for the Brazilian defender. The two clubs are in touch to reach an agreement. The Premier League outfit is pushing to complete the signing in a hurry.

Ibanez has been an integral part of the Roma squad in the last few years, but the front office is unlikely to drive a hard bargain if Nottingham Forest insist. The Giallorossi brought in Evan N’Dicka and Diego Llorente in the same role. The Spaniard headed back after a six-month loan spell.

The 24-year-old first moved to the Italian capital from Atalanta in 2020. He was purchased for €9M the following summer. He has appeared 149 times with La Lupa and has been a full-time starter for three campaigns in a row, although occasionally making big errors in crunch games.

Our Take on Roma, Ibanez, and Nottingham Forest

If the numbers were confirmed and the formula was definitive, the Giallorossi shouldn’t think twice about it and quickly reroute the money to bolster their attack and the midfield. The defense is already in good shape thanks to the previous additions. Still, they’ll probably look for a cheap veteran to round it out.
