Objective Pogba: Can Juventus Lure Back the Man United Star?

The frosty relationship between Paul Pogba and Manchester United is no longer a badly kept secret. The club’s faithfuls have launched several campaigns demanding the departure of a player who is now deemed as “overrated” on the British isles, while his agent Mino Raiola has clearly stated that the Frenchman is unhappy in Northern England and will be seeking a transfer. So can Juventus take advantage of  the dire situation and bring Pogba back to the Italian Peninsula?

According to Calciomercato.comthe Italian champions would only be able to afford the world champion’s high wages if they are able to offload some of their high-earners first. The report specifically mentions the name of Sami Khedira, who earns 6 million euros per season while not even being a part of Andrea Pirlo’s squad.

Another potential name that Juventus could end up offloading is Federico Bernardeschi, who is no longer deemed as a first choice player – especially after the arrivals of Federico Chiesa and Dejan Kulusevski – and sporting director Fabio Paratici would happily sacrifice the Italian winger for a shot at landing Paul Pogba.

But the main issue to seal such a lucrative move is the will of the player’s current employers. While the French midfielder is no longer a welcomed presence inside the English club, Man United won’t allow one of the most prized assets to leave unless they receive a very lucrative offer, especially with Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane also being a fan of his compatriot.

Our View

Rumors concerning Pogba, Juventus and Real Madrid have been circulating for several years now, but the relationship between the player and Man United seems to have finally reached its boiling point.

However, in the current economical situation, the Bianconeri are unlikely to be able to pull off a January move for their former star who had previously arrived at the club in 2012 as a free-agent before returning to Manchester for a record-breaking fee in 2016.

Nonetheless, a summer move could make sense for all parties involved. And since transfer-exchanges are the current trend, don’t be surprised to see a certain Argentine star being tipped to move in the opposing direction.
