Serie A giants Milan have tied their prodigious forward Francesco Camarda down to a new long-term deal. The Rossoneri announced the 16-year-old has signed his first professional contract at the Stadio San Siro, pledging his future to the club until 2027.
Camarda became the youngest-ever Serie A debutant in November 2023 as Stefano Pioli played him against Fiorentina at 15 years and 260 days. The Milan homegrown starlet turned 16 in March and was eligible to pen his first senior contract. After months of negotiations, the Lombardia native has committed his future to the 19-time Italian champions.
Milan were desperate to lock down Camarda’s deal amid growing interest from abroad. Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund were among potential suitors, yet the Italian whizz-kid has promised to stay at San Siro until 2027, at least. Though the prolific youngster will be part of the Milan Futuro, there’s a chance he could feature for Paulo Fonseca’s team.
After handing Camarda his first senior contract, Milan could still make another signing in attack. Alvaro Morata joined the team earlier this week from Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of €13 million. Next in line could be Dortmund star Niclas Fullkrug. The 31-year-old is reportedly close to switching to Milan.
Fullkrug’s impending arrival only confirms Milan have imminent plans for Camarda. The 2023/24 Serie A runners-up must fork out around €15m to price the German center-forward out of Signal Iduna Park, and they’re seemingly willing to meet Dortmund’s request.
