OFFICIAL: Milan Complete Signing of Fodé Ballo-Touré from Monaco

Milan have officially announced the signing of prodigious left-back Fodé Ballo-Touré from Monaco. After weeks of negotiations, the Rossoneri have confirmed the signing of the Senegalese starlet via the club’s official website.

Paolo Maldini was long looking for a back-up option for Theo Hernandez after Diogo Dalot’s season-long loan from Manchester United expired in the summer. Though the Serie A giants wanted to keep the versatile defender for another season, the Red Devils opted to bring the Portuguese youngster back to Old Trafford following an eye-catching season in Italy.

Dalot’s return to the Premier League left a defensive gap, and Maldini acted quickly to fill the void. Ballo-Touré, who spent his entire professional career in Ligue 1, has arrived from Monaco, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal and picking up the number 5 jersey.

The 24-year-old came through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain before signing his maiden senior contract at Lille in 2017. Since making his Ligue 1 debut in August 2017, Ballo-Touré went on to amass 47 appearances for Les Dogues across one-and-a-half seasons.

He moved to the French principality in January 2019, signing a long-term contract with Monaco. The left-back quickly established himself as a permanent first-team fixture at the Stade Louis II, having racked up 74 outings for Les Monégasques

Even though Ballo-Touré started his international career with the France U-21 team, he opted to play for his native Senegal, making his debut for Les Lions de la Téranga in March 2021. He has gobbled four Senegal caps so far.
