Spezia have brought in Barcelona striker Rey Manaj on a season-long loan deal, with an option to buy for €3m. In light of potential playing opportunities and increased on-field time, the Albanian has agreed personal terms with the Italian club.
Barcelona will pay the loan sums in installments beginning with €300k for the 24-year-old centre-forward who impressed Ronaldo Koeman and co. in the club’s pre-season friendlies – where he gathered 4 goals across two matches, including a hattrick.

He began his career with the Sampdoria youth teams, before moving to Inter and then to Spain with Granada and Albacete. In 2020, Barcelona paid €700k for his transfer from Alabacete with an additional fee of €2m in add-ons depending on his performances.
Manaj finished as Barca B’s top goal scorer in 2020/21 with an impressive record of 14 goals in 22 matches.
Spezia have secured Manaj’s transfer on deadline day after being much active this transfer window, in a bid to reinforce the squad and aim for a better finish than their 15th place in Serie A 2020/21
