Olympiacos to Make Attempt for Manolas in January

Olympiacos are reportedly interested in signing Napoli centre-back Kostas Manolas in January.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), the Greek champions remain keen on adding the 30-year-old to their squad and will make an attempt for him in the upcoming transfer window.

Manolas has made 74 appearances across all competitions for Napoli since joining them from Roma in 2019. So far, he has scored four goals while providing an assist. Injuries have limited the 30-year-old to only six appearances across all competitions this season so far.

Before coming to Italy, Manolas spent two seasons at Olympiacos, featuring in 74 appearances with six goals and two assists to his name. He won the Super League Greece twice and the Greek Cup during his time at the club.

Manolas’ injury has given Amir Rrahmani a chance to start frequently and he has done fairly well so far. Hence, there is a chance that the 30-year-old may not be a starter for Napoli even after he returns.

Signing Manolas would definitely bolster Olympiacos’ defense and there is no doubt that he would feature regularly for the club.
