Orsolini Nears Bologna Contract Extension Amid Exit Links

Bologna ace Riccardo Orsolini has been tied with links to Napoli and Lazio this summer window, but things may soon turn in the favor of the 26-year-old winger to stay put in Emilia-Romagna. The Rossoblu recently tied Lewis Ferguson to a long-term extension, and Orsolini is in line to receive one as well.

As per TuttoBolognaweb, ‘constant and constructive’ dialogues are taking place with the player’s agent Michelangelo Minieri – the experienced intermediary who also has the likes of Giovanni Fabbian and Nicolo Cambiaghi under his belt. Orsolini is Minieri’s most prized client, alongside Fiorentina’s Christian Kouame, as per transfermarkt.

His contract expires in the summer of 2024, and could receive an offer for a further two years. Most notably, his payroll will rise to €1.5M net per annum from €1.1M.

Orsolini himself does not wish to leave Bologna, reportedly having developed a bond with the city and the club. Moreover, leaving at the end of the upcoming season on a Bosman move will hurt the club’s coffers, which he does not intend to happen.

Fellow giants Lazio and Napoli were touted earlier in the window to act upon a potential transfer for his services. However, links have gone cold in recent weeks.
