Napoli’s Osimhen Breaks Ronaldo Serie A Record in Spezia Rout

Osimhen is the man of the moment for the Partenopei, as his quickfire brace against Spezia handed his side an unprecedented 13-point lead over Inter despite the Nerazzurri’s win in the Derby di Milano. It was the first of his two that not only killed the game, but also added a star to his growing record list.

As relayed by Corriere dello Sport (via TuttoNapoli), Victor has the second most headed goals in Europe’s top-five leagues – five – compared to Tottenham’s Harry Kane who has seven to his name. However, what’s interesting is the magnitude of his header against Spezia that broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s magnificent leap against Sampdoria two seasons ago.

Osimhen jumped from a standstill position and reached 2.58 meters, 0.02 meters more than the Portuguese superstar who jumped 2.56 to score against the Blucerchiati.

Last season, the Nigerian scored against Torino at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona by rising to 2.52 meters from the ground, but has broken iconic Cristiano’s Serie A record with his latest header against the Aquilotti.

However, the record for the highest Serie A header stands with Fikayo Tomori, who defied gravity by jumping to a formidable 2.61 meters in height towering over a helpless Giorgio Chiellini in Milan’s 3-0 win vs Juventus.
