After a few weeks and games in Turkey, Victor Osimhen has taken stock of his surprising move to Galatasaray talking to the team’s TV channel (via Fantacalcio).
“Istanbul is incredible. It’s a very big city, and I didn’t know that. This team is the most important thing. The fans make it great, which is fantastic for me, my family, and my friends. It’s one of the best towns in the world.”
The striker followed in the footsteps of some compatriots.
“I watched many players while growing up, and Didier Drogba was one of them. That goes also for Henry Onyekuru and Oghnekaro Etebo, who played here too. I knew that the atmosphere was beautiful beforehand, but it’s even more magnificent from up close. I’m speaking objectively and not just because I’m here.”
Osimhen addressed his valuation.
“I’m worth more than €100M. There are very few players like me in the world with my style and success. It’s related to my traits, what I do on the pitch, and my quality. That’s why I think I deserve that. I’m aware of the contribution I provide and that there’s room for improvement. Then, everybody has his own opinion.”
He reunited with Dries Mertens.
“I was watching Galatasaray matches because of him. I like him a lot. We spent a lot of time together, and he has always motivated me. He and his family are very precious to me.”
According to Rai (via Tuttomercatoweb), the release clause of Osimhen will be €90M in January, while it will decrease a little in the summer. His current team would receive a slice if he transferred during the winter. Chelsea and Juventus will keep tabs.
