Victor Osimhen spoke candidly about his future, admitting that every scenario will be on the table in a few months. The striker talked with German outlet Sport1 following the successful return leg versus Eintracht Frankfurt (via SportMediaset).
“I don’t know what will happen. I think I’m on the right path. At the end of the season, I will sit down with my agents and discuss everything. I’ll speak with the club too. I’m incredibly thankful to Napoli. We’ll find a suitable solution.”
Osimhen previously stated that he’d like to play in the Premier League, but PSG have reportedly done the most homework about him lately. The forward was quizzed about the Scudetto celebrations in Naples.
“They’d be something absolutely insane. The passion here is indescribable. Football runs through the fans’ blood, and that’s why we want to gift them the title.”
The Nigerian ace is still wearing a mask despite having completely healed from multiple orbital fractures.
“I got hurt two years ago, but everything is fine now. I feel more secure this way.”
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revised their wage policy last summer and wants to stick with it. Since Osimhen joined a few years ago on a lucrative contract, his €4.5M salary is already above their new parameters. He won’t get a pay bump even though he’s due since the deal expires in 2025, and he has been stellar this season. On the other hand, if he wants to stay, the chairman will make it happen, likely with the help of some add-ons. The parties are on great terms and will decide together.
