Napoli will see Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen return to the side after he recovered from a thigh injury sustained against Liverpool in the Champions League. The aforementioned injury resulted in Osimhen missing Napoli’s last three games.
Fans of the Partenopei held their breath as the number nine came off during their Champions League opener. In the end, the injury was not too lengthy. What’s more Osimhen is already back with the team ahead of a busy stretch of games.
This is the 23-year-old’s third season in Italy, having joined the club from Lille. He had made a name for himself in Belgium with Sporting Charleroi, scoring 20 times in 36 outings. That saw him move to France, where he scored a goal every two games in his sole campaign there. Since joining Napoli in the summer of 2020, the Nigerian has found the net on 30 occasions. That includes a pair of goals for the Partenopei this season before the injury.
Napoli will face Torino on the weekend, then a pair of tricky Champions League ties with Ajax. Between the continental matches will include a trip to new boys Cremonese.
