Victor Osimhen is working hard to recover from his thigh problem and be ready for Wednesday’s clash with Milan, but it’s not yet certain he will make it. The marksman spent Easter practicing on his own at the Castel Volturno’s training facility. He’s pushing to play, but the staff might not take any chances and lean toward having him for the return leg on April 18th, Tuttomercatoweb informs. Instead, Giovanni Simeone will sit such clash, and probably a few more games, after picking up a similar injury versus Lecce.
Osimhen was recently interviewed by France Football (via EuroSport).
“Napoli changed my life. I had never experienced anything like this. The whole city lives for this sport. When I joined, I asked Kalidou Koulibaly and Dries Mertens about it, and they told me I hadn’t seen anything yet. The fans never concern me, even when they stop me in the street. They just want to give affection. They are incredible at the stadium, and they help us a lot.”
Osimhen recalled his arrival and lauded Luciano Spalletti.
“Nobody believed in me when I came to Italy, only the club and my teammates did. That was key to me. I needed to be in the right place to blossom, and this is it. I don’t have a choice with the gaffer. I score, but I also have to be the first defender, or he gets mad. He’s a genius. We can defeat any opponent if we do what he asks. I couldn’t be any happier than I am now. The city deserves it since it made me who I am.”
