Osimhen Stalls but Lukaku and McTominay Are Coming

Roberto Calenda, the agent of Victor Osimhen, didn’t react too kindly to the latest rumors about Saudi Arabia. The transfer is in serious jeopardy. While Napoli and Al-Ahli appeared close, the star set steep conditions. They are unlikely to be met, and so the move isn’t very probable, La Repubblica informs.

There’d be time to eventually negotiate past the upcoming deadline day. The Azzurri want to do it sooner to have more ammo for new additions. If they sold the Nigerian international, it’d be easier to sign both Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour. The former will join regardless as he’s taking care of some pending matters with the Red Devils. He should fly in on Tuesday. Instead, Brighton are resisting even though they have signed his replacement Matt O’Riley.

Calenda commented on X.

“Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. He made history and when there were major offers (also this year), we always accepted the club’s decision. As I said, he’s not a package to be shipped away to make room for new prophets. Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eight at the Balloon d’Or, he still has so much to do Europe. There is need for respect and balance.”

Al-Ahli offered €65M to Napoli and €14M yearly to the player. The striker would rather join PSG. In the meantime, the Partenopei have reached an agreement with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku. They have finalized the personal terms too. He’ll make €8M for the next three years. He’ll be in Italy for the medicals on Wednesday. The Blues might soon table a bid for Osimhen too.

Napoli have decided to confirm Giovanni Simeone as a backup, while Walid Cheddira has joined Espanyol on loan.
