Napoli star striker Victor Osimhen will not leave the club following reports of his links with Manchester United, his agent Roberto Calenda has confirmed. Jorge Mendes, the agent of Red Devils superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, offered his top client to the Partenopei, and in return attempted to send the Nigeria ace towards the Red Devils.
Despite just under a week remaining in the summer transfer window, alarms were raised when the buzz of a swap deal involving Ronaldo and Osimhen surfaced. However, with Napoli wanting nothing less than a three-digit figure for the Nigerian star, it always seemed difficult to imagine a deal materializing between the two parties.
Calenda, Osimhen’s agent, has come forth on Twitter with an important message – citing his client’s intention to play in the Champions League with Napoli.
“No negotiations in progress, no exchanges. Victor Osimhen is a Napoli player and he wants to play the Champions League with Napoli after earning such opportunity with pride along with his coach and teammates on the pitch.”
