Giampiero Boniperti died during the night in Turin because of heart failure. He would have turned 93 in July. He has been directly involved in Juventus, first as a player and then as an executive, for almost 50 years. He coined the motto: “Winning is not important: it is the only thing that matters.” He collected 444 appearances with the Bianconeri, forming a legendary trio with Charles and Sivori, and spent two decades as the president.
