PSG Expected to Hand Transfer Blows to Inter and Milan

PSG are looking to revive two transfer targets back into their crosshairs after links with them cooled down over the past few weeks, which could thwart the plans of Inter and Milan. They signed versatile French defender Nordi Mukiele on a five-year contract from RB Leipzig, but are far from done this summer window.

Christophe Galtier, the side’s new coach, indicated after their whopping 6-2 win over Gamba Osaka in Japan of the club’s intention to complete new signings before the transfer market shuts close (via Footmercato).

“The club is working to improve the squad. We’ll get on the plane, take the 12-hour trip, we’ll sleep and when we land, we’ll have maybe 1 or 2, maybe 3, 4, 5 more players.”

As Galtier suggested, Les Parisiens are contemplating to aim at closely linked targets that include Renato Sanches and Milan Skriniar, with any such move expected to hand big blows to the Milan giants.

Inter center-back Skriniar has been touted to stay put at the Meazza after the former Scudetto champions failed to sign Gleison Bremer, losing out to Juventus in the transfer race. Inter’s demand of €80M for the stopper has put PSG off pace, but according to reports from FootMercato, they are doing everything to reverse the situation.

Skriniar has only one year remaining on his contract, and Inter are doing everything they can to make him stay. Raoul Bellanova remains the Nerazzurri’s only defensive signing this window.

On the red and black Milan divide, the Rossoneri’s ongoing hunt for a central midfielder has had them linked to 24-year-old midfielder Sanches over two transfer windows now. However, the Portuguese himself has given PSG the priority with just one year remaining on his Lille contract. They are in advanced negotiations with Lille to finalize the deal.
