Parma and Everton are battling to acquire Joshua Zirkzee from Bayern Munich, with the Ducali currently leading the race as they offered a season-long loan with €15M option to buy. They are waiting for an answer from the German side, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted.
The 19-year-old striker was poised to join Eintracht Frankfurt in previous weeks, but they brought Luka Jovic back from Real Madrid instead and so other teams swooped in, Tuttomercatoweb informed. The forward has accepted the destination as he would get ample playing time with the Gialloblù, however the sides are still negotiating the formula and the fee. Therefore, Everton remain in the running.
Zirkzee has featured three times in Bundesliga so far this season, while he had gotten more minutes in the second half of the last campaign, scoring four times in nine appearances with the first team. He has notched six goals and nine assists in 32 matches with Bayern Munich II.
Parma are desperately looking for offensive reinforcements as their strikers have been unable to produce so far and they were one of the clubs that asked Sassuolo for Gianluca Scamacca, even offering to buy him outright. However, they seem to have turned their focus to the Dutch starlet in recent days.
While Parma have reportedly decided not to move forward with the acquisition of Franco Vazquez, they are slated to welcome right winger Dennis Man from Steaua Bucharest, as confirmed by the owner Gigi Becali, and will invest around €15M for the 22-year-old attacker, transfer market expert Alfredo Pedullà reported.
