Paul Pogba to Turn Down PSG Bid to Return to Juventus

Wantaway Manchester United ace Paul Pogba reportedly considers returning to Juventus despite a genuine interest from Paris Saint-Germain. According to ESPN, the France international is ready to invoke pleasant memories from his previous spell in Turin after deciding to leave the Premier League.

Pogba will leave Man United following a topsy-turvy six-year stint. The Red Devils paid a then world-record fee of £89.3m to obtain his services from Juventus in 2016. But not many things have gone the midfielder’s way at Old Trafford since returning to his homegrown club.

Fast forward six years, Pogba is again on the verge of leaving Man United for free, as was the case in 2012 when he departed Manchester to link up with Juventus. Another similar scenario may take place this summer, though Manchester City and PSG are also in the mix.

However, Pogba has made it clear has has no intention of staying in the Premier League once his contract at the Theatre of Dreams runs out. Therefore, Paris has emerged as his potential destination, especially given PSG’s unlimited funds. Yet, it’s not all about money.

Pogba has probably played his last game for Man United in a 4-0 thumping to Liverpool, where he picked up a season-ending calf injury. Though there’s no estimated return date for the French playmaker, Juventus are willing to bet on their ex-midfield dynamo this summer.

Massimiliano Allegri is desperate to revamp his faltering squad. It’s been over a decade since Juventus last experienced a trophyless campaign, yet they have had to settle for another one this season. As a result, Allegri is on a lookout for a few high-profile additions in the upcoming transfer window.

One of the departments Juventus need reinforcements the most is the midfield. Adrien Rabiot’s future is up in the air, while Arthur Melo has never convinced Allegri of his qualities. So keep an eye on Pogba. Indeed, the Bianconeri have already made progress in talks with the player.
