Pellegrini: “I Think Tonight’s Win Is Huge for Us, Goes Beyond My Goal”

Following the capital club’s 1-0 win over Sampdoria at the Luigi Ferraris stadium, Roma skipper Lorenzo Pellegrini expressed his emotions after securing three vital points.

The central midfielder played a significant role in obtaining the victory as he scored the only goal that separated both sides as he found the back of the net from the penalty spot under 10 minutes within the fixture, increasing his tally to one goal and four assists in ten games-played within the Serie A so far this season.

In an interview with DAZN following the match, the Italian international described how much the victory meant for the Giallorossi:

“I think tonight’s win is huge for us, and goes beyond my goal. There had been times this season where was a feeling that we may struggle in the final minutes but not tonight. We came here with the intention to win.”

In addition, the 27 year-old explained how he felt to have marked his 200th appearance for Roma:

“200 appearances for Roma? I dedicate this night to my family, and by that I mean everyone who’s played a role in my life, including my agents who got me here.”
