Milan edged Inter to the league title last season, with their 19th Scudetto warranting 86 points at the end of the season – just two points more than the Nerazzurri’s 84. Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli has revealed the courtesy of Inter president Steven Zhang to congratulate him for the tightly-won championship.
In an exclusive talk to the “I Re Di Calcio” program on DAZN (via FCInter1908), the Milan tactician spoke of how Zhang reached out with a touch of humility.
“After we won the Scudetto he congratulated me. He always has a very courteous and respectful attitude.”
Pioli also disclosed his relationship with Inter manager Simone Inzaghi.
“I followed his training and he followed mine: there has always been a great relationship based on collaboration. Then we separated and faced each other many times with great respect for each other.”
The 2021/22 Scudetto title was decided on the last day of the season, as Milan eventually beat Sassuolo away from home to earn the accolade.
