Milan face Empoli in a crucial clash at the San Siro tomorrow, and will take the opportunity to keep close tabs on Tommaso Baldanzi. The 20-year-old midfielder has been on the Rossoneri radar for quite a while, as the club prepare to lose Brahim Diaz and perhaps even Rafael Leao in the summer.
Coach Stefano Pioli has praised Empoli for their consistency, particularly pointing out Baldanzi.
“Empoli has been playing a certain type of football with a roar for many years: they are fast, quick, technical, they take good positions on the pitch and they will let us run a lot and well. Baldanzi is a young man with perspective,” said Pioli in his pre match press conference (via MilanNews).
Baldanzi has been marred by fitness issues earlier in the season, but he has appeared regularly since making his comeback.
He has 4 goals in 19 appearance this campaign and might soon see his future at a bigger Serie A club, perhaps Milan. The playmaker, who looks up to Paulo Dybala, will be available for a price tag of €15M.
