Pioli: “Signing the Renewal With Milan Is Always Very Exciting”

With Milan set to face Red Bull Salzburg in match-week six of the Champions League tomorrow evening, Rossoneri boss Stefano Pioli discussed his happiness regarding his extension with the Milanese club.

Since taking over at the helm in the summer of 2019 following the sacking of Marco Giampaolo, the Emilian tactician rejuvenated the club as he managed to bring the club back into the Champions League after having missed out seven years in a row, as well as clinching the scudetto over cross-city rivals Inter last season for the first time in ten years.

So far this season, the Rossoneri are in third place with a total of 26 points, six points adrift from the league-leaders Napoli. In addition, Pioli’s side are only one point away from securing their spot in the Round of 16 of the continental tournament.

Following a tremendous amount of success since his appointment, Pioli went to the Casa Milan this morning where he signed a two-year extension with Milan.

In an interview with Dazn, relayed by Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Pioli expressed his happiness after extending his stay at the San Siro:

“Signing the renewal with Milan is always very exciting, it is what I wanted and wanted, I thank the owners for this opportunity and the technical area also for the timing in which this contract was made. I am very happy, if possible this signing me it gives even more energy to carry on what we are doing. “
