Pioli Talks Ibrahimovic and Kessié Before Salernitana Game

Stefano Pioli highlighted the challenges presented by the Salernitana game: “There are more variables than usual. We focused on our issues because their coaching change did not allow us to work much on them. They are coming off two positive results, and we will need determination and concentration.”

“In the Derby, we realized that, if we stay in the game mentally, even when suffering, we can have the opportunity to win. We must always have this awareness and confidence in our qualities. The table is not truthful, as Inter and Atalanta have one game in hand. It is a pleasure to be under pressure because it means that we have raised our level.”

Pioli updated on Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the possible lineup against Salernitana: “He is feeling better, but he is out for this week. He will resume running in the next couple of days, and then we will begin to assess him. We do not know when he will be able to train fully. Franck Kessié and Brahim Diaz have different characteristics. I choose based on their condition and how we want to interpret the game. Junior Messias is in good form right now.”

“We just have to produce our best effort. The players are positive and confident. The season is still long, and there will be some roadblocks, but we prepare well. You always face different systems in Italy, but we know what to do.”

The coach dished on Kessié: “He is serene as always. He had a good week, like the other footballers. We have a very tight group. Ante Rebic is feeling better, and getting minutes in the last game helped him, even though he was not decisive. He is a key player for us, and he will soon provide his contribution.”
