Pisa Attacking Talent Lucca Not Forgotten by Sassuolo

With Gianluca Scamacca the subject of heightened interest from top clubs Milan and Inter, Sassuolo are already planning a future without their main marksman, and have not forgotten past target Lorenzo Lucca, who may well arrive in Emilia-Romagna in the future. The Italy U21 marksman moved to Serie B side Pisa in 2021/22 from Palermo.

Despite his current goalscoring drought, having last hit the net in October 2021, several Italian suitors are lining him up for a future move. According to La Nazione (via SassuoloNews), the Neroverdi are one of the first names among the list of interested clubs that include newly-promoted Cremonese, Bologna and Salernitana.

Having recently signed a five-year contract with Pisa, a loan transfer is being touted for him by the aforementioned clubs. Any of the teams mentioned above would offer him the chance to experience top-flight football for the first time in his career. However, Sassuolo seem like his most likely destination given the club’s proven ability to hone youngsters to the best of their talent.

The Neroverdi recently confirmed the transfer of Uruguay prodigy Agustin Alvarez, but Scamacca’s imminent departure means that they would lack alternatives upfront, given that also Giacomo Raspadori might leave the club. It was reported last year of Juventus, Inter and Milan all taking interest in Lucca, before the striker’s form let him down for the second half of the Serie B season.
