Pogba Comments on His Future Following Ban Reduction

Paul Pogba played coy and didn’t rule out any possibility in his first interview since the CAS cut down his suspension from 4 years to 18 months, which means that he’ll be able to play again in March. He spoke with L’Equipe (via Calciomercato).

“I’m truly happy. I didn’t do anything wrong, so why should I have been banned for that long? I’ll be able to reprise doing what I love the most. I’ve been in touch with Didier Deschamps, who’s always bene there for me. He constantly supported me also before this situation. I’m very grateful for that.”

Pogba rejoiced at the favorable sentence.

“It’s as if I’ve been given another chance. I got back what was taken from me. It’s like a new lease on life. March will arrive soon. I’m looking forward to it.”

Pogba downplayed the reported interest from Olympique Marseille and was quizzed about a potential move to the Ligue 1.

“I laugh about it because it was a suggestion by ‘Uncle Pat’ (Evra), who said it jokingly. I’m still under contract, so it’s not a believable option at this stage. My only focus is returning and getting past this ordeal. I don’t know what the future holds, so never say never. My goal is to get back into shape since I haven’t played in a long time. I’m eager to returning on the pitch. The French national team has many players who are doing well with their clubs and  wouldn’t get demoted just because Pogba, who has won a World Club, is back.”

The midfielder is in talks with Juventus for an early contract termination.
