Paul Pogba has yet to play a game in his second spell at Juventus, as a meniscus tear suffered in the pre-season has sidelined him so far. He’s reportedly nearing a return and explained his transfer market choice to GQ.
“I promise the fans that I will work hard to get back on the pitch on soon as possible to help the team collect the victories it deserves. I like to think that my heart made this choice. It was the right moment to do it. The last three years in Manchester didn’t go as I wanted, also because of injuries. In addition, considering that the Bianconeri haven’t won the Scudetto in two years, it was a nice challenge for the both of us. There were the correct premises for a reunion and to try triumphing together.”
Pogba discussed his relationship with Massimiliano Allegri and the Juventus fans.
“I’ve always had a strong bond with the coach. He knows me and always pushed me. We stayed in touch when I was in England too. I’ve always felt the love of the Bianconeri supporters. It’s the warmest I’ve experienced in my career. I know the meaning of this jersey, and it brings the best out of me. I’ve never had any doubt that this is where I’m supposed to be.”
Pogba described the difference between Serie A and the Premier League.
“The Italian championship has always been one of the most difficult one in my mind. It’s among the best in the world in terms of product on the pitch. Winning is challenging for everybody, even more so for Juventus given the massive expectations. There’s peerless economic potential in England, and that’s the true gap.”
