Pots Set as Four Italian Giants Await UCL Group Stage Draw

The pots for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) draw have been set in stone after Royal Antwerp, PSV Eindhoven, SC Braga, BSC Young Boys, Galatasaray, and FC Copenhagen all secured their respective places in the 2023/24 season of Europeโ€™s top continental tournament after aggregate victories in the UCL play-off stages.

Four Italian teams โ€“ Inter, Milan, Lazio, and Napoli will take part in this seasonโ€™s UCL showdown. The Partenopei fall in pot one as Scudetto title holders alongside fellow top seeds, such as previous seasonโ€™s Champions League and Europa League winners, and winners of the main European championships by ranking.

Inter sit in UCL pot two with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United. Pot three includes the two other Azzurri sides in, Lazio and Milan. Meanwhile, pot four is devoid of Italian sides.

The UCL draw, which will be the final time a group draw takes place before the new 36-team revamp from next season, takes place on August 31, Thursday evening, at 6PM CET.
