Premier League Clubs On the Hunt for De Vrij as Bremer Links Strengthen

Dutch center-back Stefan De Vrij is approaching the end of his Inter tenure after being shortlisted as the player set to leave the Giuseppe Meazza, in order for the Nerazzurri to open up space for the arrival of Torino defender Gleison Bremer.

With De Vrij’s contract expiring in the summer of 2023, Inter look to cashing in on the former Lazio man, who arrived for free in 2018. He is expected to bring in at least €20-25 – that is, as promised by his agent Mino Raiola – despite the Dutchman possessing a transfermarkt fee of €35m. This is according to reports from Calciomercato (via FCInter1908).

One of the main factors his departure is expected to add considerably less than his market value to Inter’s coffers is due to his age, as the Feyenoord youth product only just turned 30.

His departure will warrant needed funds for the transfer for Inter’s long-standing Brazilian target from Turin. So far, not many teams have expressed interest in De Vrij’s services, but that doesn’t mean he is short of suitors. Newcastle United are said to be in pole position for the Dutchman’s services and Tottenham Hotspur have also entered the race to reunite him with former coach Antonio Conte. Aston Villa are contenders too.

He has 155 caps for Inter and 118 for Lazio throughout his eight seasons so far in Italy.
