Sassuolo and Italy Rising Star on the Radar of Premier League Giants

Domenico Berardi is showcasing his quality internationally for the first time in his career in the Euro after few strong seasons at Sassuolo. He is currently drawing interest primarily from Premier League clubs. For different reasons, the top Serie A sides are not in a position to attempt to sign him. Tottenham has made a serious inquiry him, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The winger rejected proposals to move to bigger outfits to stay at Sassuolo in the past. He twice passed up on the opportunity to join Juventus. However, he is keener on moving now, either to another Italian team or abroad. He has notched 17 goals and eight assists last season.

Tottenham will keep a close eye on the Serie A market now that former Juventus director Fabio Paratici has taken over. Arsenal and Manchester United also had exploratory talks. It will not be easy to acquire him as Sassuolo have put a €50M price tag on their star, who is currently making €2.5M per year.

The Bianconeri have invested in Dejan Kulusevski and Federico Chiesa in the same role and will not be players. Berardi is an Inter fan, but they use a different tactic and will not spend much this summer. Milan would like to add a winger with his traits on the right flank, but they are not planning to make a splurge at this stage.

If a Premier League powerhouse made a move right after the Euro, it would have excellent chances of being successful. After nine years together, Sassuolo are unlikely to create major obstacles to Berardi if he wanted to move.
