Premier League Offered The Chance to Sign Andrea Belotti

Several Premier League sides have been offered the chance to sign Euro 2020 winner Andrea Belotti on a free transfer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The 28-year-old is a free agent after calling time on his illustrious seven-year stint at Torino earlier in the summer.

Despite being handed the captain’s armband and a starring role in the team, Belotti turned down Torino’s bid to extend his contract. During his seven years at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, the prolific striker tallied 113 goals across 251 appearances.

Belotti’s sublime performances for the Granata earned him a household reputation in Serie A. However, the Italian’s future is seemingly lying in the Premier League. Newcastle United, Everton and West Ham United have taken an interest in the former Palermo man.

Everton are on the lookout for a new frontman. The Toffees need a new forward to lead the line at Goodison Park following Richarlison’s departure. The Brazilian joined Tottenham Hotspur in a mega-money deal, leaving a sizeable void for Frank Lampard to fill.

Newcastle signed Chris Wood from Burnley in January. But the Magpies are hopeful of making a statement in the summer on the back of a blockbuster takeover last season. Signing a player of Belotti’s stature could be just what the doctor ordered for Eddie Howe’s side.

Last but not least, West Ham have yet to land an out-and-out striker. Not since Sebastien Haller have the Hammers had a true No9. David Moyes has requested the recruitment of a new centre-forward, with Belotti emerging as a candidate.

The former Torino talisman could slot in alongside Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen up top. In addition to Belotti, West Ham appear to be considering the prospect of capturing the services of Sassuolo rising star Gianluca Scamacca.

As it looks, the Premier League cannot wait to meet Belotti. Watch out for Monaco, who have reportedly launched a contract offer to acquire the Italian.
