Premier League Outfit Target Juventus Midfielder, Send Scouts to Watch Milan-Juve

An unlikely contender has emerged for the signature of Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, who has been contacted over a move this January. The club in contention for his signature are Premier League’s Aston Villa, led by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Villa have already secured the signings of Philippe Coutinho, Emiliano Buendia, Lucas Digne and Leon Bailey, among others, and it looks like Uruguayan central midfielder Bentancur might be the next to set foot in Villa Park.

According to reports from Sky Sports, Gerrard sees the 24-year-old as a strong option to revitalize his midfield options. Taking the manager’s choices into consideration, the Premier League outfit sent scouts to watch his performance during Juventus’ clash against Milan at the San Siro that materialized into a weary stalemate.

Villa have not yet made a formal approach to the Bianconeri, but it looks highly likely that an offer will be submitted by them before the end of the week.

Bentancur has appeared 26 times for Juventus this campaign, providing three assists in the process.
