Having recently been booed by home fans in Roma’s 1-0 win over Genoa, Nicolo Zaniolo is increasingly being pushed on the brink of an exit from the club. Despite being defended by Jose Mourinho to stay put, clubs from across Europe – Premier League specifically – are piling in as potential destinations for the exciting youngster.
As per latest reports from La Repubblica (via VoceGiallorossa), Arsenal and Newcastle United are trailing Zaniolo for a move before the winter transfer window, perhaps on a permanent transfer rather than a loan deal.
According to @repubblica, Arsenal are looking at 23 y/o Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma for the January window.

The Gunners lost out to Chelsea in the race for Mykhailo Mudryk, and are eager to add an attacker to their roster. Zaniolo, who has been targeted by Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the past, is now on top of Mikel Arteta’s radar.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United want to continue investing in top-level talent, as they squeeze their way through to the top of the Premier League table.

It is understood that Mourinho wants Zaniolo to stay at the Stadio Olimpico, but increasing hostilities point towards the exit door for the 23-year-old. He has 24 goals in 128 appearances for the Giallorossi since making his debut in June 2018.
