After a relatively active winter transfer window, Roma are set to continue their spending spree ahead of next season as they are eager to sign the promising Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest who is open to a move this summer to the Stadio Olimpico.
Since La Blaugrana acquired the promising defender from the Dutch giants Ajax in the summer of 2020, the 21 year-old has struggled to break into the starting eleven. So far this season, Dest has only made 18 appearances within the La Liga. As a result, the American sensation is considering a move away from the Spanish club in order to seek more playing time.
According to Calciomercato, the Giallorossi are keen about signing the promising full-back and are prepared to meet Barcelona’s price tag of €18M for the North American sensation. As a result, Dest is open to heading to the Stadio Olimpico at the end of this year’s Serie A campaign.
As it stands, Mourinho’s side is currently short on full-backs as Leonardo Spinazzola is still held at bay following his serious long-term injury he suffered during the Euro 2020. As a result, the club believes that Dest has all the qualities to fill the void within the full-back position through his incredible pace, his marvelous technique on the ball, and his tactical awareness.
